What an invoicing program has to do in Albania

In Albania an invoice is not valid until the Tax Administration has registered it. So an invoicing program is not just a template that prints a PDF. It has to sign each invoice with the business's electronic certificate, send it to the Central Invoice Platform, receive the NIVF code back and print it with the QR code, all within seconds of the sale. On top of that, it should save you the work that comes after the invoice.

VOS is a single platform with a customer dashboard for the business and an accounting portal for the accountant. At the counter there is a cash register panel and a quick-invoice screen built for speed. For everything else there is a full flow for each document type the law defines. Fiscalization happens in the background: the certificate is uploaded once, and the tax number is read from the certificate itself, never typed by hand.

The four document types, each with its own rules

Albanian law does not have one kind of invoice. Each document type has its own schema and its own moment of fiscalization, and a program that handles only the first one leaves you doing the rest by hand in Self-Care. VOS has a separate, complete flow for each of them.

When invoicing has to live inside your own system

Some businesses already have an ERP, an online shop or a platform of their own, and do not want a second program next to it. For them we build invoicing and fiscalization into the system they already use, through the same engine that runs VOS: certificate handling, XML signing, real-time transmission and reconciliation, exposed through an API your developers can call.

  • Is there free invoicing software in Albania?
    The Tax Administration's Self-Care portal is free and is enough if you issue a few manual invoices a month. Once you invoice every day, have a cash register or stock, or need the books kept, a dedicated program like VOS saves the double entry: the invoice is issued once, fiscalized automatically, and the reports come from the same data.
  • Does VOS fiscalize invoices automatically?
    Yes. Every invoice is signed with your electronic certificate and registered with the Tax Administration in real time. The NIVF code and the QR code are printed on the document without you doing anything extra.
  • What do I need to start?
    Your business registered for fiscalization, the business units and cash registers declared, and an electronic certificate for signing invoices. We help you set up the certificate and the registers in VOS.
  • Can my accountant work in the same system?
    Yes. VOS has an accounting portal with the national chart of accounts, a double-entry journal, period closing, bank reconciliation, the sales and purchase books and 42 reports, on the same data the business issues invoices from.
