About the role

Square Software builds custom software, web platforms and mobile apps from Tirana, for clients in Albania, the wider region and Western Europe. We are a small team, so the work is direct and the feedback loop is short. This is a new role, and we want to be straight with you about what it is. We are not handing you a lead list, because we do not have one. What we do have is a backlog of concrete, qualified opportunities that nobody currently has time to run: public tenders we are eligible for, subcontracting and partner conversations across Albania, Kosovo and North Macedonia that are drafted and unsent, and an agency-to-agency supply lane where other agencies sell the work and we produce it. Your job is to turn that backlog into signed work, and then keep it fed. If you want a role where you build the commercial function instead of inheriting it, this is it. If you need a mature pipeline and a script, it is not.

Responsibilities

Tenders and bids. Monitor the procurement feeds we already run, qualify what we are genuinely eligible for, and own the bid file end to end: documents, deadlines, declarations, pricing input from the technical team, submission. Partner channels. Work the outreach to system integrators and IT firms in Albania, Kosovo and North Macedonia, where subcontracting or a joint bid gets us into work we cannot reach alone. White-label supply. Recruit agencies abroad who sell websites and software to their own clients and need a production team behind them. Their sales, our build, fixed scope per project, recurring once the relationship works. The inbound we already have. Own the LinkedIn Services requests inbox and the enquiries that reach the website, and answer them while they are still warm. Qualification, not volume. Score every opportunity against what the delivery team can actually ship this quarter, and say no early. We would rather lose a bid than win one we cannot deliver. Documentation pack. Keep the company's bid documents current: registration extracts, payroll and tax certificates, bank confirmations, references. A bid should never be lost to a missing certificate. Reporting. A short weekly pipeline review with the founder: what moved, what stalled, what you are killing.

Requirements

Two or more years in B2B business development, sales, partnerships, or bid and proposal work. The sector is flexible: software, IT services, consulting, even construction bid work all transfer. Albanian and English, both fluent, written and spoken. English is the working language for agency and partner outreach, and much of this job is writing: emails, proposals, bid narratives. Comfortable with formal procurement documents. You can read a tender's eligibility criteria and tell us in one paragraph whether we qualify and what is missing. Self-directed. Nobody is going to assign you your week. You build the target list, the sequence and the follow-up cadence yourself. Serious about deadlines. A tender deadline is absolute, and a missed one costs a quarter. Enough technical literacy to hold a first conversation about web platforms, mobile apps and integrations without an engineer in the room, and the judgment to know when to bring one in. Based in Tirana or willing to relocate. This is a Tirana-based role with flexibility, not a fully remote one.

Nice to have

Experience with public procurement in Albania, Kosovo or North Macedonia, or with donor-financed tenders (World Bank, EBRD, EU instruments). A second European language, particularly Italian, German or Dutch. Those are live target markets and a second language opens doors English does not. An existing network among IT firms, integrators or agencies in the region. Experience selling to or through other agencies, white-label or subcontracted. Familiarity with e-invoicing and fiscalization rules in Albania or North Macedonia, which is where a lot of the regional demand originates.

What we offer

Base salary plus commission on work you originate and we sign. The commission structure is agreed in writing before you start, so you know exactly what you are working toward. A real backlog on day one: qualified tenders, drafted partner outreach, and an audience of contacts at IT and software companies that has never been approached. Direct access to the founder. Decisions get made in the same conversation, not in a committee. Flexible schedule and hybrid working, with travel and field meetings where they are worth it. We fund the tools the job needs: CRM, outreach tooling, and paid tender access where it earns its cost. Room to define the function. You will set the CRM, the pipeline stages and the reporting, because none of it exists yet.
